Ensuring the Safety and Security of All Residents
Public safety must be the top priority of a thriving Chico. Every resident deserves to feel secure in their homes, workplaces, and neighborhoods. In order to achieve this we must have adequate funding and resources for our police department, allowing for more officers, better training, and advanced equipment.
Compassionate and Effective Solutions
The City of Chico, in collaboration with the Jesus Center, has established the Genesis Shelter that provides temporary housing to homeless individuals. It is vital to build on the success of our cities housing programs while also bringing accountability to the shelter resistant homeless who continue to camp in public spaces.
Maintaining and Improving our City's Infrastructure
Good roads are essential for public safety, business, and quality of life. The City of Chico is undergoing major road projects currently including widening Bruce Road to four lanes, and rehabilitating asphalt on some of our worst roads. It is vital that our city continue to invest in roads before they deteriorate and leverage all state and federal dollars available in maintaining our infrastructure.
